This is a "must see" exhibit if you are in the Houston area, or planning a trip to Houston, TX.
Spirited and charming, painter Aidi Kansas' delightful canine portraits capture the very personality of each loveable beast as if it were human - one sees in Kansas' paintings the tell all gazes to which, usually, only a devoted pet's owner is privy. Kansas' works are lighthearted and humorous compositions that draw upon the design elements of pop culture with vibrant hues and decorative patterned backgrounds. Fun and insouciant, Kansas' colorful paintings blend her unadulterated love for animals, her enthusiasm for animal rights issues, and modern design sensibilities to create art that honors the invaluable relationships between people and their pets. Electric yellows, baby blues, vivid magentas and sugary violets bring these blithe works to life, visually elucidating the joy of a pet's companionship in everyday life."
Aidi Kansas has exhibited her paintings from coast to coast. After nine years, her painting continues to evolve, and catches the eye of even the most discriminating collector. You can expect to see Aidi’s work all year long at places like The Dog Bowl and on an episode of “Extreme Makeover home Edition” airing in February 2006.
And if you can’t get enough of Aidi’s colorful and lovable paintings, stay tuned because there are international licensing deals in the works. Soon, everyone will be able to enjoy a little piece of Aidi’s passion for animals in forms like prints, toys, and maybe even a book or t.v. series.
