Take your pet along!

Thinking about traveling lately. Do you have some exotic location in mind like the Bahamas or the Virgin Islands? Or do you have plans to hit America's two-lane highways and go for a good old-fashioned road trip. Whatever you have in mind, wouldn't it be nice to take your four-legged friend along as well. Pet Friendly Hotels!

Believe it or not there are a lot of hotels out there that specialize in providing accommodations for your pet as well as you. So if you are thinking about taking your pet along you are going to want to plan ahead, and find out if there are any hotels that you can stay at that are 'pet friendly.' However, not all 'pet friendly' hotels are the same, and some are not that good at all. Here is a list of things that you should find out about any hotel that you are thinking of bringing your pet to.

Dog Sitting Services!

Some hotels offer what is called a dog sitting service. They either have a kennel in the hotel that you can drop your pet off at, or they will come to you room during the day and they will feed and walk your dog. These types of hotels sometimes include this service in the price of the room, and others charge a separate fee for such a luxury. Make sure you know ahead of time what the hotels policy is regarding your animal staying in the room by itself.

Accidents!

What is the hotel's policy on accidents? If your dog pees on the bed, are they going to charge you a fine, or as a 'pet friendly' hotel do they just expect that accidents will happen, and just send some one to your room to clean it up—no questions asked? This is a very important piece of information to know about your hotel, and this type of information may not be easily found unless you call the hotel and ask them. One simple phone call can save you money and frustration, by knowing ahead of time what to expect if your sweet little doggie tinkles on the rug!

Luxuries!

What type of 'pet friendly' amenities does the hotel offer? The world is becoming more and more pet conscious, and hotels are no exception. There are five star restaurants that you can go to now that have a specialized pet menu, where not only you can grab a bite to eat, but so can your Shih Tzu! Some hotels have these 'pet friendly' restaurants right in their lobbies. Some other cool things to look for are pet spas, and pet recreational activities. Just like some hotels have activities planned for you: like yoga, pilates, and dance classes. Some 'pet friendly' hotels have activities planed for you and your pet to enjoy! Believe it or not there are some hotels out there where you can schedule a massage for you and your pet, and then go to a yoga class together!
